.updateHave now bought bookings in the City game too so that becomes a very small arb, laid under 1.5 in the City game and backed over 2.5 in the same match. Another busy SaturdayJust gonna stick up the bets as and when I can today cos I'm gonna be flat out today
So far we have;
Sells bookings in Man City game @ 34.5
Sell bookings in Rangers game @ 38.5
More bets later on (probably) A quick catch upBets from the Real Madrid match went as follows sell bookings 65.5 £55.88 lay under 2.5 @ 2.3 -£100.10 lay under 1.5 @4.9 £24.96
And from the York game
sell bookings -£14 corners -£100.76
giving us a total for the night of -£134.02 more bets.....sell bookings 65.5 lay under 2.5 @ 2.3 lay under 1.5 @4.9
all the above on the Real Madrid match. A rare treat tonightA little bonus match for us tonight as Real Madrid take on Real Betis live on SS1 @ 9.00, there aren't many midweek fixtures in La Liga and even less televised ones so I will hopefully have a few bets for that one later in the evening.
First to the Conference game, not quite as glamorous but still the chance to make some bunce in the York v Halifax game I'm going in with the following bets;
Lay 13+ corners @ 2.88 Back 9 or less corners @ 2.86 Buy bookings @ 37.2
I'll be back on later with an update and hopefully some profit!! HmmmmmThis night isn't going to live long in the memory, haven't lost a particularly large sum of money but the bets just never got going, I had given up on the corners bet after literally 5 minutes of the tie and I think the final total was 18, very rare you go that high in these kind of games. The bookings bet fared little better and tbh I was quite surprised there was one booking as the match didn't really warrant it, still thats the way backing value goes and there are some games in-play tomorrow to try and repair the bank - at this stage the Real Madrid match looks interesing.
Corners -£50.40 Bookings -£38.60
Total -£89.00 Hull V ChelseaWill update later on but two bets tonight, buy bookings @ 29.3 & lay 13 or more corners. As there have been 6 corners in the first 6 minutes I think we can assume that one has already lost!! Very decent nightWell pleased with tonight's result, Arsenal left it late and just as I was beginning to think maybe I should have layed off pre match after all they scored - perfect timing.
Martin Atkinson remembered to bring his cards with him for a change tonight as well meaning 4 bookings in the Liverpool match in a game which was never a dirty one although Torres did take a bit of punishment from the Reading centre backs, quite happy with that bit of profit too.
The corners bet somehow managed to come through for us as well although I was sweating on that a bit towards the end, it finished dead on 9 corners so even one more would have turned the profit into a loss, its a nervy market that one when you know you have 10 mins or so to go and can't afford a corner!!
Ebbsfleet were the only losing bet of the night, scraping through 1-0 in the end, but for a magnificent goal line clearance we would have had a winner there too, but 3 out of 4 ain't bad.
Liverpool corners £115 Liverpool bookings £25.40 Arsenal match odds £104 Ebbsfleet 1.5 -£99.98
Profit for the night of £144.42 Carling CupArsenal are now trading around the 1.8 mark with about 2o mins until Kick Off, as I suggested yesterday the 2.04 I managed to grab was decent value and although I could now lay the bet back for a "green screen" before the game even starts I am happy enough with the bet so will leave it as it is.
To go with this are;
Buy bookings in Liverpool game @ 27.3 Back 9 or less corners @ 3.3 in Liverpool game Lay under 1.5 goals in Ebbsfleet match. Finally Betfair SettleThe "grand" total for the weekend's pre-match bets was profit of £86.45, as I said previously it was hardly outstanding punting but profit is profit so I'll take that and move on to hopefully bigger & better things.
I did actually sit down and watch the Cliftonville match on Sky tonight, the standard of football wasn't particularly high as might be expected but after a bit of a drab first half the game livened up after the break which was especially good for me as I backed a couple of goals at half time.
While I can't say the Northern Ireland Premier League is one I know much about the match drabness of the opening half suggested to me that most people would be backing no goals or very few so the value probably lay with opposing that view. I kept stakes reasonably small anyway so a loss wouldn't have bothered me much but ended up with a solid £300 profit.
Have had a quick look at tomorrow's fixtures and its very likely I will have a couple of bets on thr Liverpool match and possibly something in the Espanol game prior to kick off, I have also backed the mighty Arsenal to beat Newcastle at The Emirates, although the Arsenal team clearly won't be the first choice eleven it won't be full of reserve team players either as it used to be for this competition and I expect Gilberto, Diaby, Denilson, Diarra, Traore, Hoyte, Bendtner, Walcott and Eduardo to all feature. Thats a pretty decent basis for a team imo and with BFS often playing reserve teamers for the Carling Cup when at Bolton anything above evens about Arsenal is value imo. I have £100 on @ 2.04. Fuck me I'm tiredApologies for not updating throughout the weekend but I've just been miles too busy, guess I need to be a bit more organised so that I'm able to bet & blog simultaneously.
Anyway there seems little point in posting up every bet I have had pre-match this weekend and with a couple of bets still to be settled (come on Betfair hurry up!!) I'm not sure of the exact total I have made but its in the region of £80.
The basic tone of the weekend was win money on bookings markets then take a battering on corners and lose most of it which was mildly frustrating to say the least! Managed to make a little more on some of the in-play markets too which was a bonus although I'm not counting that profit for this blog it was good to make some money for all the hard work I put in!
As there seems to be pretty muchno football of any interest tomorrow I may well take the night off and update on here properly ...... although I notice Cliftonville v someone or other seems to be live on Sky so then again I may be betting after all! Cardiff buy bookings @ 41 Saturday - busy daySaturday's are always busy days during the football season so I'll do my best to update this throughout the day with my current bets then have a look tonight after the Barca game which (should) be live on Sky to see how we have faired. Fingers crossed for a profitable days punting for all :) Bit of a mixed bagNot a terribly successful nights work but I'll take the positives out of it and say that it could have been a lot worse if it wasn't for that crazy dude who reffed the Everton match. Definitely will be keeping an eye out for him in the future just to make sure I don't sell his bookings EVER!
Results for the night are
Back 9 or less corners in Spurs game -£73.92 Buy bookings in Histon match -£52.60 Buy bookings in Everton match £105 Back 13+ corners in Everton match -£50 Lay 9 or less corners in Histon match £24
Overall a loss of £47.52 for the night, at least we are still in profit for the season so far even if its not by much. UEFA Cup tonightI must admit nights such as this one I usually struggle a little on Betfair, there are so many matches on (usually many of them with pretty poor liquidity) that I seem to spend most of the time trying unsuccessfully to get some bets matched. However I do have a few that are already matched & hopefully there may be some money around in the Everton, Spurs & Histon games that are all live on tv so I may have a few more plays in running. Anyway here are tonight's bets;
Back 9 or less corners in Spurs game @ 3.3 Buy bookings in Histon match @ 36.3 Buy bookings in Everton match @ 37.5 Back 13+ corners in Everton match @3.75 Lay 9 or less corners in Histon match @3.05
All decent value bets imo although I especially like the Everton corners bet, its quite a big price but I think it will go very close to coming in, fingers crossed! Nice bit of green tonightMy screen has a distinctly green tinge to it tonight mainly thanks to the goals in the Slavia Prague game, as you can see a couple of my bookings bets actually ended up being arbs resulting in very small wins. Basically I put up a sell & a buy price on all the bookings markets at prices I feel are value and then just live with which ever bets are taken or not!
Tonights results are shown below - as you can see for the first time this season we are now in profit, long may it continue!!
Arsenal bookings £2.80 Man Utd corners £61.50 Man Utd bookings £2.80 Rangers bookings -£16.00 Arsenal corners -£50.00 Steau 1.5 goals £55.00 Steau 2.5 goals £160.00
Profit for the night = £216.10 A host of bets for tonightQuite a few bets matched tonight, never quite sure if thats good or bad as I always wonder if I have mis-priced something or the markets have when there are a few bets on the go!
Anyway hoping for another profitable night tonight and if we get one we shoudl be into profit for the season, bets below;

Proit for the night £192.60 champions League returns!!The big boys kick off their European adventure tonight on matchday 1 of this season's Champions League. I spent this morning putting up an absolute raft of prices covering all 8 of this evening's games on Betfair, most of the matches are in my opinion priced up pretty much correctly at present though which means I have just 5 bets to recommend tonight. It will be a busy in-running evening however as I attempt to trade all the games simultaneously, as this blog is meant to be about proving soccer betting can be profitable I am not including any in-play bets on here simply because I can't put them up until after the games have finished and I don't want to be labelled an "aftertimer." So tonight's bets are;
Buy bookings in Real Madrid game @ 43.6 for £2. Sell bookings in Celtic game @ 44.9 for £2 Sell bookings in Chelsea game @ 31 for £2 (this can be arbed by buying for £2 @ 30 with Sporting Index if you wish, I haven't) Lay 13 or more corners in Liverpool game @ liability of £50 Lay under 1.5 goals in Marseille game @2.76 for liability of £100
As always, best of luck!! Unlucky tonightBit hard done by tonight I feel, the lay of Newcastle worked a treat as they never threatened and made us a pretty straightforward £60 to begin with. However 4 second half bookings gave a make up of 50 points from what had looked a strong position at half time with only one on the board leaving us with a loss on the market of £25. A Derby corner 3 mins from time gave a corners total of 10 - the minimum corners we could lose on and a market loss of £50, again we had been in a strong position on this market during the first half with 4 inside the first 20 mins. Overall a small but disappointing loss of £15 for the night. Time for a whisky. Derby v NewcastleOne of the pifalls with only betting when you see "value" is inevitably you are forced to take bets which you don't think have a lot of chance of winning, just a little more chance than the odds suggest!
We find ourselves in this situation tonight - every man and his dog wants to be on Newcastle away at Derby meaning the Newcastle odds are prohibitive and thats why we need to be laying them tonight.
Do I think Newcastle will win, yeah probably but the odds are not a fair reflection of their chances, Billy Davies will have Derby fired up at home with the game on live tv too. Also most Derby players have been at home preparing for this for the last two weeks while Newcastle's have been playing internationals all over the world.
We won't be drawn in too heavily though so the recommended bet is a lay of Newcastle @ 1.83 on Betfair, for a liability of £50 this will net us £60 profit if Newcastle fail to win.
I'm also having a little play on the bookings index market tonight selling the cards at 37.5 for £2 a pop, ref Peter Walton is normally one of the more lenient in the Prem although he is averaging 4 cards a match so far this season. If you don't understand the index markets I urge you not to get involved here, it is possible you could lose (or win) many times your £2 stake.
If you wish to know how this market works drop me an email and I'll either put up an explanation on here or mail you back in the next few days.
Recommended bets
Lay Newcastle @ 1.83 Betfair Sell bookings @ 37.5 Betfair
****** Late bet right on KO, lay 10-12 corners @ 2.94 for £50 liability @ Betfair*********** A bad startWell, there's no way of escaping the fact that was a terrible start to our punting but I guess thats why they call it gambling!!
In case anyone doesn't know the Parma game finished in a 1-1 draw which wasn't a disaster but the Barca match was awful with a 0-0 full time scoreline. Barca look to be really struggling so far this season and may be a team to oppose in the next few weeks especially if Messi joins Etoo on the sidelines for any period of time.
A loss of £260.00 for the evening. Sunday 16th SeptSurprising amount of value to kick us off tonight but unfortunately neither match is televised live in the UK, however the Parma game can be seen live on Betfair tv, don't let that spoil what is potentially a profitable night so the recommended bets are;
Parma V Cagliari
Lay under 1.5 goals @ 3.4
Back over 2.5 goals @ 2.3
Osasuna V Barcelona
Lay under 1.5 goals @3.9
Back over 2.5 goals @2.1
Recommended liability for each bet is £100, all bets to be placed on Betfair (www.betfair.com)
